Zack's Farewell

Zack gave his farewell address on May 12th in Sioux City. It also happened to be Mother's Day and he was able to celebrate both occcasions with so many people who he loves and cherishes so much, especially his Mom! Several people stopped by to wish him well and since it was graduation weekend at Dakota Valley, it almost seemed like we were doing a repeat of his Graduation party the year prior.

On Tuesday evening, we was officially set apart as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and became Elder Poulsen. It was a special and sacred experience and one that I'm sure that Zack will remember.

Early Wednesday morning, we drove up to Sioux Falls for Zack to catch his 6am flight to Atlanta, where he would catch his connecting flight to Mexico City. While saying goodbye to him was hard, it was much easier than any of us had expected it to be. In Macie's opinion, it was much easier because Zack was so excited to go on his mission and had a smile on his face the whole time. After a few pictures, hugs and tears, we watched him go through security, not to see him again for two years...
